The RoleAs part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and evaluation of programmes of care ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Team Leader the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management and clinical leadership of the area including supervision, development and deployment of staff.
Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.
The working pattern for this role is 12 hour shift pattern including days, nights and weekends
In this key role, you will:- Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.
- In the absence Senior Charge Nurse/ Co-ordinator responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.
- In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/ Team Leader assume responsibility for the management / operation of the unit, including work allocation, deployment and supervision of staff.
- Co-operate with Clinical Nurse Manager or deputy / Senior Charge Nurse / Team Leader in the management of induction, recruitment, appraisal and absence management of staff.
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
