We're looking for an Assistant Estimator to join our Eastern Construction team based in Witham, Essex.

Witham, Essex – hybrid working available, with travel to the office required.

As an Assistant Estimator you will support the Eastern Construction team in estimating project costs, identifying contractual, financial, technical and operational risks, and finding opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit.

• Supporting the winning of contracts by estimating costs for tenders, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting value engineering.
• Assisting in the process of assessing, preparing, validating, adjudication and final submission. This includes minimising subcontractor and material costs, communicating with design, planning, commercial and bid management functions.
• Estimating costs to meet or exceed customer requirements, including obtaining and negotiating quotes.
• Building and retaining commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors during the tender and fulfilment process.
• Establishing and planning the requirements for internal and external resources, in particular identifying and coordinating suppliers and subcontractors.

• Experience of construction methodology, ability to assess build ability & commercial awareness.
• Similar experience within an estimating role.
