360 Recruitment is currently assisting a specialist contractor in their search for a Quantity Surveyor in Oxfordshire.

This opportunity is a site-based role, working on civil engineering packages.

Position: Freelance Senior / Quantity Surveyor

Location:Witney, Oxfordshire

Duration: Ongoing

Rate: £350 - £450/day

• Lead commercial management of assigned packages, ensuring costs are tracked from award through to final account.
• Prepare, review and agree cost valuations, interim payments and final accounts with main contractors and subcontractors.
• Manage variations and change control - assess, price, document and negotiate any changes to the original scope of works.
• Maintain accurate variation/change registers, cost forecasts and commercial records.
• Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the scope of works, identifying omissions or scope gaps early and initiating formal change processes.
• Review subcontractor applications for payment, ensuring they reflect actual progress and agreed scope/variations.
• Support subcontractor procurement, scope clarification and negotiation of contract terms.
• Provide commercial input to project teams, attend meetings and communicate cost/variation status to stakeholders.

• Proven experience in similar role with a subcontractor on civil engineering packages.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Ability to prepare accurate cost reports and forecasts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
• Willing and able to get SC clearance.
