AAG Defence Services is a MAA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) based in RAF Brize Norton, UK. We work in partnership with Airbus Aerospace & Defence to supply dedicated MRO services, including heavy and line maintenance, to the Royal Air Force’s fleet of A400M Atlas aircraft. Our committed and flexible team of over 100 engineers and management are based at RAF Brize Norton in a dedicated 24,000 m², three‑bay facility designed to optimise the maintenance of the aircraft.

Job Purpose
An MAA or Part 66 B Licensed Aircraft Engineer responsible for crew performance and development. This includes and is not limited to, individual performance, competence assessment, training, motivation, performance and discipline. SLE will also be responsible for:

Safety & Quality and HSE:
- Compliance with organisational policies and procedures detailed in the AAGDS MOE and supporting documentation.
- Responsible for ensuring organisational and individual operational safety and security procedures are implemented, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring the production team and any associated working parties adhere to the HSAWA 1974.
- Ensuring compliance using guidance and direction through the MOE including associated procedures and the organisations SMS and H&S policies.
- Driving a 0% injury culture by ensuring team adherence to C.O.S.H.H., Risk Assessments, including the requirement to wear PPE as instructed by COSHH Assessments and SDS information. To challenge those who disregard these rules.
- Delivering Team briefs, ensuring Shift Brief points are communicated from the Management.
- Responsible for carrying out the daily bay safety inspections and 5S is completed to the highest standard at the start of shift. Not limited to, but including staging, tail docking (when relevant). All documentation is completed and signed for such as Wing grip, Fuel Tank Permits and bay specific Risk Assessments. FBZ‑130 forms are updated and archived.
- Ensure that Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE), hand tools and general equipment is maintained in a serviceable, safe, clean and tidy condition, reporting any faulty equipment immediately to the Tool Custodian and carrying out root cause of fault. Reporting negligence, lack of training and trending as necessary.
