Design Engineer required to join a Global manufacturer based in Runcorn. The Design Engineer will ideally have some industry industry with a Degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
The Design Engineer will have a mechanical background, with some experience within a design for manufacture or engineering environment. Knowledge of Creo / Pro-E would be beneficial, however experience using Solidworks, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor or similar will be of interest.

Up to £35,000 depending on experience

Role
Develop new and prototype designs as well as existing designs
Work closely with engineers, customers and suppliers from concept through to production
Engineering calculations
Follow program from prototype build through launch and eventually apply product knowledge to new product development/design
Use engineering principles, tools, and software to overcome design and test issues
Work with customers to understand their requirements and application - Design engineering solutions to meet customer requirements
Designing engineering products used in hydraulic applications
Create 3D models in Creo / Pro-E
React to customer issues and provides ongoing design modifications and support
Part drawings with correct dimensioning and tolerancing
Select correct materials, heat treatment, and assembly processes needed
Liaise with various engineering departments
Develop testing for products
Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 16:45 with 30 minutes flexi time either side, Friday 08:30 – 15:30 with 1 hour flexi time either side
Based in Runcorn
Requirements
Industry experience post Degree is preferred - exposure as a Design Engineer, Draughtsman, Project Engineer or similar would be beneficial
Must be Degree qualified (BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc) in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering or similar.
3D CAD experience is essential - Knowledge of Creo / Pro-E would be beneficial, however Solidworks, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor or similar will be considered
Must be commutable to Runcorn
