My client, a specialist engineering and technology business based in Oxfordshire, is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their production team. This hands-on role involves assembling complex scientific and cryogenic systems while ensuring high standards of quality and precision.

Key Responsibilities

* Assemble complex cryogenic systems and mechanical assemblies to technical drawings

* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the assembly process

* Carry out helium leak testing of systems and components

* Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications

* Conduct soldering, cleaning, polishing and preparation of components

* Assist with product improvements and communicate modifications to the design team

* Support production documentation and QA work instructions

* Occasionally operate manual workshop machinery such as lathes and mills

* Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment

Requirements

* Engineering NVQ or equivalent experience

* Previous experience assembling scientific or precision equipment

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

* Experience working to tight tolerances and critical dimensions

* Welding, soldering or fabrication experience advantageous

* Flexible approach to working hours during busy production periods
