Workshop Assistant

A well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Witney is looking for a practical and reliable Workshop Assistant to join their team.

Salary:
Up to £30,000 depending on experience

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of a busy workshop and facility. You’ll help keep operations running smoothly by assisting with preparation work, maintaining the workspace, and supporting the team with general tasks across the site.

As a Workshop Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Keeping the workshop and loading areas clean, organised and safe
Assisting with packing into export crates and preparing products for shipment
Carrying out general maintenance and handyman tasks across the facility
Completing local deliveries and collections when required
Helping maintain external areas, including the yard and car park
Supporting workshop preparation of components for manufacture

What We’re Looking For:

A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to help wherever needed
Experience using hand tools and general workshop equipment
Good attention to detail and a proactive attitude
Full, clean UK driving licence
The following would be beneficial but not essential:

Previous experience using a lathe or machining equipment
Forklift licence
This role would suit someone with practical, hands-on experience, ideally within a workshop, engineering, or manufacturing environment, who enjoys a varied role. For the right person, there may be opportunities to develop further skills and progress within the business over time. Equally, it could suit someone with solid hands-on experience who is looking for a stable role, without necessarily looking to move into a more demanding position.
