Software Engineer, .NET Developer, SQL Developer

Software Engineer | Automation & Manufacturing | Witney | 3-6 month contract | Day rate on offer – Inside IR35:

MARS Recruitment is hiring a temporary contract Software Developer with strong C# development experience to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions within an industrial automation and manufacturing environment. The role will focus on creating and maintaining applications that integrate with production systems, automation equipment, databases, and operational reporting tools.

The successful Software Engineer candidate will work closely with manufacturing systems, automation, engineering, operations, and IT stakeholders to deliver practical software improvements that support production efficiency, data visibility, system reliability, and continuous improvement.

• Strong hands‑on C# development experience using .NET Core and .Net Framework as well as Modbus and  programming.
• Experience developing Windows desktop applications (WPF and Forms), Windows Services, APIs, or integration tools (using HTML/C# or Blazor) in a production or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP, REST APIs etc.
• Good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, including queries, schema design, and data troubleshooting.
• Experience working with industrial automation, manufacturing systems, process control, or operational technology environments.
• Familiarity with Git Hub and Azure Dev Ops.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
