Cost Accounting Manager​/Controller

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Manager through Controller-level professional to provide immediate interim support for a manufacturing organization in Wixom, MI. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with strong manufacturing cost accounting and plant finance experience who can step in quickly, work independently, and make an immediate impact.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, month-end close, forecasting, and financial operations
. Experience progressing into a plant controller or manufacturing controllership role is highly valued.

• Oversee and manage manufacturing cost accounting activities
• Maintain and analyze standard costs and inventory valuations
• Perform detailed material, labor, overhead, and production variance analysis
• Lead and support the monthly financial close process
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and manufacturing KPIs
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
• Partner with plant and operations leadership on financial performance
• Identify cost trends and opportunities for improved profitability and efficiency
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and cost accounting data
• Provide hands-on accounting leadership during the interim transition

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience
• Experience at the Cost Accounting Manager, Plant Controller, or Controller level
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Ability to operate independently and quickly assume responsibility
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and partnering with plant leadership

This position is initially expected to be approximately two months to provide immediate backfill and transition support. The client is also open to an interim-to-hire arrangement for the right candidate, providing an opportunity to transition into a permanent position.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco/Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
