Controls Engineer

Overview

Sugino Corp, provides high pressure washing and deburring solutions, including precision cutting and machining, backed by world-class service and support, is looking for a Controls Engineer in Wixom, Michigan. The Controls Engineer provides customers with on-site repair, troubleshooting, programming, or maintenance services for Sugino equipment. Travel to a customer site may be required on short notice.

• Troubleshoot, repair, electrical control devices.
• Assist plant associates with technical questions and potential solutions.
• Possess ability to investigate and resolve HMI and PLC issues as needed.
• Ability to interpret PLC Ladder logic.
• Ability to work well independently on smaller projects.
• Ability to travel 40% to 90%.
• Aid in the installation and startup of new equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Test and verify electrical wiring: safety circuits, I0, communications, etc.
• Debug and test all software to meet project requirements.

• Three (3) years of Fanuc PMC Controllers experience.
• Three (3) years of Rockwell PLC Control experience.
• Minimum experience with Mitsubishi PLC control.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in automation/manufacturing environment.

• Four (4) year degree or equivalent in engineering, preferably electrical recommended but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy lifting (25+ lbs), bending/stooping, standing, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling movements, sitting, climbing stairs/ladders, walking, operating a motor vehicle. Other notes: operating various equipment; keyboard use; color/depth perception.

Working Conditions and Schedules:
Interacting with co-workers, vendors, and customers; exposure to fumes, chemicals, extreme heat, electrical shock, and vibration; exposure to various noise levels; office machines and travel to customers.
