Technical Sales Engineer (Electrical Engineering)

Specific to an Electrical Engineer with five years' experience in automotive, aerospace/defense, or power distribution sectors, this role blends deep technical expertise with a customer‑facing sales focus.

About the Business

A subsidiary of an AIM UK listed global group, the company specializes in signal and power electronics testing for automotive, aerospace, defense, and research institutions. In an exciting expansion phase, the German subsidiary seeks to build a US sales presence while providing strong training and support for career growth in technical sales.

The Role

Specifically, your role will involve:

  • Delivering technical presentations and undertaking direct sales activities with known customers
  • Building and maintaining long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers and technical stakeholders within known customers
  • Providing pre‑sales support including solution proposals, technical documentation, and pricing
  • Working closely with the company’s German HQ and US sales partners to engage customers and build confidence in the company’s offerings through credible technical solutions
  • Organising and leading sales demonstrations to customers in collaboration with various business groups
  • Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer visits across North America
What You Bring to the Role
  • Technical credibility in power electronics, backed by an electrical engineering degree and relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, defense, or power distribution, with some customer‑facing exposure; account management or sales experience is highly regarded, though training will be provided
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with confidence to influence positive outcomes
  • A high degree of self‑motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Willingness for frequent domestic travel and travel to Germany for training
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
