Controls Engineer Siemens

We are looking for a Controls Engineer to assist with the integration, build, and commissioning of machinery. Your work will begin with debugging in our Wixom, MI facility before transitioning to installation and support duties at our Romulus, MI plant. This is a contract position running through the end of the year, with the possibility of extension depending on future project needs.

Candidates must be prepared for a demanding schedule that includes 6 to 7 days of work per week, including 2nd shift hours and availability during the Christmas holiday shutdown. Please note this is a local assignment, and travel expenses or per diems are not offered.

Primary Duties

• Utilize Siemens software to program, troubleshoot, and integrate production lines.
• Manage the configuration and resolution of issues related to HMI and Panel View systems.
• Ensure project success by providing hands-on technical support during machine runoffs and on-site commissioning to keep operations running smoothly.
• Maintain production continuity by working 2nd shift and covering essential tasks throughout the year-end holiday period.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise working with Siemens TIA Portal V15.1 and S7-1500 hardware.
• Proven ability to set up and diagnose HMI and Panel View interfaces.
• Background in automotive manufacturing, with a strong preference for those familiar with GM Powertrain SiFACS standards to help ensure compliance and quality.
• Flexibility to commit to a rigorous schedule involving 6-7 day work weeks, 2nd shift coverage, and holiday availability to meet project deadlines.
