Job Summary
Submersible Mechanic will work with pumps on mechanical equipment such as water lift stations, dewatering pumps, and flood control pumps. The role involves inspecting and repairing all pumps, meeting production demands within time standards once the training schedule is completed. Responsibilities include investigating signs of repair failure and providing recommendations, taking precise mechanical measurements, operating motor analyzers, multimeters, and connecting cables to 230/460/110/9 volt single‑phase or three‑phase motors.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate signs of failure and make recommendations.
- Gradually learn disassembly and assembly of pumps, motors, and related equipment.
- Follow all safety precautions to ensure continuous and efficient operation of wastewater systems.
- Learn and perform a variety of skilled duties to safely disassemble, take precision measurements, fill out inspection reports, reassemble, and test submersible pumps used in water and wastewater transfer, water distribution, wastewater collection, and in industrial and transmission markets.
- Test electrical equipment using multimeters, megohms, and related tools.
- Record and check new parts using measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
- Operate overhead cranes and Hi‑Lo's (training provided).
- Operate equipment such as presses, pullers, torches, and grinders.
- Report all operational deficiencies to the supervisor and maintenance personnel.
- Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections/orders to ensure operational and safety compliance.
- Provided with a basic company set of tools; tool loan program available for additional purchases.
- 1‑3 years of basic electrical training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work occasional nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Capable of lifting 40 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.

- Standard weekly hours: 40‑50 hours.
