Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
VEIR is enabling a new generation of compact, efficient, high-power, and long-distance power delivery solutions, solving bottlenecks that exist across the entire electricity value chain, from generation through to data center server racks. VEIR's low voltage superconducting solutions are enabling new power delivery architectures in the world’s largest data centers and our higher voltage solutions are poised to revolutionize the development of electricity transmission and distribution lines.
VEIR is preparing for rapid growth as we seek to solve critical challenges facing data center developers, electricity generation developers, utilities around the world.
As the Technical Lead – Systems Integration
, you will be the technical leader responsible for driving end-to-end integration of VEIR’s superconducting cable systems across all three of our product platforms. You’ll oversee how VEIR’s subsystems, conductor assembly, cryogenic infrastructure, fault handling, controls, and terminations come together into a cohesive, reliable, and high-performance product.
You’ll lead the team that ensures VEIR’s hardware, cryogenics, instrumentation, and electrical interfaces integrate cleanly at both the system and subsystem levels. This includes defining architecture, resolving cross-functional dependencies, establishing integration requirements, and ensuring each subsystem operates seamlessly as part of VEIR’s full product stack.
This role is equal parts deep technical ownership and strong people leadership. You’ll serve as the “coach” of the systems integration effort, aligning cross-functional contributors, ensuring the right engineers are focused on the right integration challenges, and guiding the overall system architecture for VEIR’s HTS cable products.
While not all team members will report directly to you, you’ll be accountable for ensuring that VEIR’s end-to-end system integration progresses efficiently, risks are identified early, and technical decisions align with VEIR’s performance, reliability, and safety goals.
In Your First 3–6 Months, You Will- Develop a deep understanding of VEIR’s product architecture, subsystem interfaces, and end-to-end system behavior across all product lines.
- Apply your systems engineering and integration expertise to guide architectural decisions, identify cross-functional risks, and support system-level design tradeoffs.
- Build strong relationships with teams in conductor assembly, cryogenics, controls & automation, fault handling, and terminations.
- Establish clear integration requirements, interface documentation, and cross-functional workflows.
- Create alignment on system-level deliverables, schedules, and milestones for VEIR’s integration roadmap.
- Evaluate team structure, communication paths, and integration processes to improve execution velocity and reduce late-stage system surprises.
- Lead technical reviews, integration planning sessions, and early subsystem compatibility checks.
- Lead the integration of cryogenic hardware, electrical systems, mechanical interfaces, control logic, and protection systems into a unified, high-performance product.
- Ensure integrated system designs meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements, both in lab environments and in field deployment scenarios.
- Partner closely with program management, hardware engineering, cryogenics, controls, and field teams to ensure alignment on requirements, test plans, and validation milestones.
- Drive cross-functional technical problem solving for complex integration challenges, including dynamic system interactions, interface failures, and unexpected system behavior.
- Mentor and coach engineers across multiple disciplines, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
- De-risk critical system-level challenges and ensure VEIR’s products are ready for prototype demonstrations, customer pilots, and commercial deployment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Ph.D. or advanced specialization a plus).
- 8+ years of…
