Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an engineering technician to support new product development of thermal management components used in high technology markets such as defense, commercial aerospace, laser, medical equipment (X‑ray and MRI), data centers, traction, and semiconductor. The individual must be a highly motivated self‑starter with exceptional communication skills and a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.

• Test prototype and production components and assemblies to determine performance and ensure compliance with customer specifications. Measurements include cooling capacity, fluid flow, pressure drop, shock and vibration, noise level, controls, etc.
• Design and build specialized test equipment and fixtures to support testing of prototype and production components and assemblies.
• Work from verbal and written instructions, technical manuals, engineering specifications, schematics and drawings.
• Use a variety of test equipment and troubleshoot product defects.
• Support engineering with writing test procedures, interpreting test data, and writing test reports.
• Provide ownership and maintenance of the engineering lab equipment, including the 6S program, equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Calibrate pressure gauges, thermocouples, flow meters and other equipment necessary for specialized test setups.
• Interface with engineering, drafting, production personnel and outside vendors.

• AS/BS in engineering.
• 5 years of hands‑on experience in assembly or systems testing.
• Advanced electrical knowledge and proficiency in the use of standard hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Capability to assemble hydraulic components including soldering and brazing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and P&I diagrams.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are preferred.
• Motivated, hands‑on team player with the desire to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Location:

Woburn, MA. The role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager – Component Design.

Compensation: $45–$48 per hour plus bonus potential.
