The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance.
This position is on site in Woburn, MA.
You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities:
- Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
- Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
- Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
- Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
- Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.
You will contribute to one or more capability areas, including:
- Electronic Protection, signal processing, and applied mathematics.
- Hypersonic threat defense.
- Tracking, discrimination, search, and battle manager interfaces.
- Radar calibration, diagnostics, and deployed site support.
- Modeling and simulation of tactical software.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS.
- Experience with systems analysis, algorithms, requirements development, and/or signal processing techniques.
- Experience with Battle Management command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I) systems, Radar Systems or signal processing techniques.
- Experience with developing, documenting and maintaining processes, methods and tools.
- Ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
- Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture.
- Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
- Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.
- Experience and interest in Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development and implementation.
- Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement
- Previous military service.
- Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs.
