Job Overview

The Long Range Radars (LRR) department within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Center is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the GLOBUS program in Woburn, MA. This role requires a technically exceptional engineer able to sustain and advance a dual‑band radar architecture combining modern S‑Band phased array hardware with an upgraded legacy X‑Band system.

It demands deep radar and signal‑processing insight to understand how beamforming, DREX processing, and modern servo technologies interact within a complex operational sensor. The engineer must diagnose interdependent subsystem behaviors and ensure coherent hardware and software updates aligned with long‑term sustainment. We value various skills and experiences, so don’t hold back. Your qualifications could bring tremendous value to our team.

Our customers come from all backgrounds, and so do our employees. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do
  • Sustain and enhance dual‑band S‑Band/X‑Band radar performance.
  • Analyze RF behavior, array calibration, microwave dynamics, and servo/pedestal control.
  • Integrate and validate digital beamforming, DREX chains, and upgraded microwave assemblies.
  • Solve highly interdependent system‑level issues across hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop, test, and confirm technical theories and system fixes.
  • Ensure upgrades remain coherent with long‑term sensor sustainment strategy.
Qualifications Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in defining and driving technical execution plans.
  • Experience with radar systems and algorithms including signal processing, signal processing theory, signal architecture, and/or signal modeling.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a history of positive collaboration in team settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to customers and senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with navigating organizational structures and collaborating with stakeholders to develop solutions for critical program challenges.
