Our client is a growing Construction firm, specializing in commercial projects located throughout the greater Boston area.

Job Overview:

As the Controller, you will play a critical role in the financial management of our company. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis. You will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that support the growth and success of our company. This role reports to the CFO.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying any variances and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
  • Collaborate with project managers to track project costs and provide accurate cost projections
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team and board of directors
  • Manage cash flow and make strategic financial decisions to support the company's growth objectives
  • Oversee the annual audit process and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as banks, auditors, and vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
