OverviewThe Actuarial Analyst helps to develop, manage, and price life and annuity products for our customers. The Analyst supports a variety of actuarial tasks that impact the organization, including taking products from conception to market and maintaining relevance of core products. The position collaborates with IT, Sales, Customer Service, and other departments on illustration and product‑related questions and projects.
Responsibilities- Work under the direction of senior actuaries to support pricing and development of annuity and life products.
- Collaborate with groups across the company for product rollout and maintenance.
- Update and maintain actuarial financial models for profit testing.
- Assist in the production of product reports and monitoring of product profitability on an ongoing basis (actual‑to‑expected actuarial dashboard).
- Help implement product changes or revisions to ensure timely response to regulatory and market requirements.
- Support periodic analysis and update of pricing assumptions.
- Analyze competitor product offerings and market initiatives.
- Set up new products on the illustration system and maintain and test that system.
- Assist in the annual setting of policy dividends.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics (preferred).
- Two actuarial exams passed and at least one actuary internship or one year of full‑time actuarial experience. Additional exams may be required after hiring.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of AXIS actuarial software is preferred.
- Desire to attain membership in the Society of Actuaries.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply concepts to new situations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to present actuarial analysis to non‑actuarial audiences.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks within time constraints.
Hybrid work environment: three days in office (including mandatory Wednesdays) and two days remote.
