Responsibilities- Supervise CNA staff on the assigned unit to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care
- Provide direct nursing care, including administering medications, wound care, colostomy changes, tube feedings, suctioning, IV administration, and other skilled interventions as assigned
- Observe, document, and report changes in resident status to physicians, families, and leadership
- Transcribe and carry out physician orders accurately
- Participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents
- Conduct rounds to ensure resident needs are being met, and staff are following facility policies
- Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate transportation needs for residents
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care
- Maintain an adequate stock of medications, supplies, and equipment and notify appropriate personnel when needed
- Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication within the team
- Participate in survey processes, inspections, and QAPI activities
- Treat all residents with dignity and respect, ensuring their rights and confidentiality are maintained
- Follow infection control policies, safety procedures, and life safety/emergency protocols
- Report any abuse, neglect, exposure incidents, or noncompliance according to policy
- Complete all assigned training and skills competency requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Current, unencumbered State of Massachusetts RN license
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff
- Critical thinking skills to assess situations and provide appropriate care
- Ability to handle different situations with professionalism and tact
- Prior experience in long-term care is preferred but not required
