Scientist, Discovery Chemistry

Summary: Perform pioneering medicinal chemistry to design innovative RNAi technologies. This role focuses on ligand conjugation and receptor-mediated delivery to cells and tissues of high interest for drug development.

• Design, plan and execute siRNA conjugation and purification with a variety of ligands. Ligands are based on small molecules, peptides and antibodies.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab delivering on team goals, with the focus on delivering siRNA conjugates in a timely manner to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Have teamwork spirit in following and formulating chemistry lab protocols, such as E-notebook policy, HPLC, and LC-MS.
  • Develop medicinal chemistry and molecular design expertise, to become the next generation of scientific leaders at Sanegene.
  • ctively participate in project meetings and present research and proposals.

• A Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry, or oligonucleotide chemistry, with 1-2 years post-doctorate experience preferred.
• Experience in conjugation chemistry is desired, and antibody conjugation or purification experience is a plus.
• Ability to solve challenging synthetic chemistry problems in creative and effective ways, with a good track record of innovation achievements.
• Expert knowledge of techniques related to purification and characterization of organic compounds.
• Current with chemistry literature and contemporary working knowledge of emerging synthetic methodologies and technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Skilled user of office technology such as MS office, Zoom, MS Teams etc., Fluency in Chem office, Scifinder and ELN.
