The City of Woburn Department of Public Works seeks qualified candidates for the position of Mechanic.
DUTIES:Performs skilled repairs and maintenance of motor equipment; inspects, diagnoses and repairs gasoline, diesel, propane and hybrid-powered vehicles and equipment. Performs scheduled maintenance and services; diagnoses and repairs the following systems: electrical, brake, fuel, transmission clutch, suspension, hydraulic, and snow fighting equipment associated with trucks and equipment. Must be able to remove and replace parts and reprogram control systems on modern and older vehicles and equipment.
Participates in snow and ice operations during storms to keep equipment operating during such emergencies. Must be available for call out to work during such emergencies.
CDL License;
Hydraulics License; three or more up-to-date ASE Certifications in auto or truck repair, minimum 5 years in the field of auto, truck or equipment repair.
Level 3 $ 73, hours a week plus overtime for weather related events
