We're partnering with a growing fundraising organisation to recruit a Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive finance team. This is a hands‑on role offering real variety, supporting the day-to‑day finance operations across the business.

From payroll and VAT through to reconciliations and bookkeeping, you'll play a key role in ensuring the finance function runs smoothly.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys operational finance and wants to remain close to the numbers within a collaborative business that genuinely looks after its people.

About This Business

This is a growing organisation with a genuine sense of purpose, working with a wide range of clients to deliver successful fundraising campaigns.

The finance team is close‑knit, welcoming and incredibly supportive. Everyone works together, is happy to help one another and enjoys being part of a collaborative environment.

They also offer a huge amount of flexibility around working arrangements. Whether it's adjusting your start or finish times to fit around life outside of work or making the most of their hybrid working policy, there's a real level of trust and autonomy. It's the sort of environment where you're treated like an adult and given the flexibility to do your job well.

The Role!

As the Bookkeeper, you'll support the day-to-day finance operations across the business, ensuring financial processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Processing payroll across multiple entities.
  • Preparing and submitting RTI returns and pension uploads.
  • Managing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring compliance.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and maintaining accurate financial records within Xero.
  • Reviewing, approving and processing employee expenses.
  • Processing supplier invoices and supporting payment runs.
  • Supporting the month‑end close process, including reconciliations, journals and assisting with reporting.
  • Assisting with month‑end reporting and wider finance administration.
  • Supporting bookkeeping activities across multiple entities.
  • Working with finance systems including Xero, Bright Pay and Pleo.
  • Providing operational finance support across the wider business.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You'll enjoy the operational side of finance and be looking for a role where you can remain hands‑on across a broad range of finance responsibilities.

You'll come from a strong bookkeeping or transactional finance background and have practical experience managing VAT, payroll and day-to-day finance processes. You're organised, detail‑oriented and enjoy working as part of a supportive team where everyone pulls together.

Wish List

  • Strong bookkeeping or transactional finance experience.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience of preparing VAT returns.
  • Experience supporting month‑end activities.
  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Confident using Xero or similar accounting software.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple entities.
  • Proactive, reliable and happy to support wherever needed.

Why Join?

  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the Woking office.
  • Flexible start and finish times, with genuine flexibility around working arrangements.
  • Enhanced pension and private medical cover following probation.
  • Join a friendly, supportive finance team where you'll be valued, trusted and given the opportunity to make a real impact.
