Trainee Property Surveyor

Our client is based in Woking, Surrey are recruiting for Trainee Property Surveyor. While comprehensive specialist training will be provided, candidates must possess a practical understanding of building construction and property maintenance.

This role involves shadowed field training alongside qualified surveyors, learning diagnostic methodologies, using specialist equipment, and preparing detailed survey reports for residential clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practical Learning:
    Shadow senior surveyors to learn diagnostic techniques for identifying rising damp, penetrating damp, condensation, woodworm, and dry/wet rot.
  • Site Inspections:
    Assist with carrying out non-destructive moisture testing, sub-floor inspections, and structural assessments.
  • Report Writing:
    Learn to compile clear, professional inspection reports, CAD drawings/sketches, and remedial cost estimates using company software.
  • Equipment Care:
    Maintain diagnostic tools (electrical resistance meters, carbide meters, thermal imaging equipment, and hygrometers).
  • Client Interaction:
    Represent the company professionally on-site, communicating findings to homeowners, landlords, and estate agents.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    Adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly regarding working in confined spaces, at heights, and handling remedial materials safely.
