I'm working with an established Surrey-based main contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor as they enter their next stage of growth.
The business currently turns over approximately £30m and delivers new-build, refurbishment and fit-out projects across the commercial, education, ecclesiastical and retail sectors.
This is an opportunity to join a stable commercial team of four surveyors while the company expands its secured workload and wider market presence.
The Role- Commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Valuations, applications for payment and subcontractor payments
- Monthly CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Managing variations, change control and contractual risk
- Negotiating and agreeing subcontractor final accounts
- Commercial buildings
- Schools and education facilities
- Churches and ecclesiastical projects
- Car showrooms and retail developments
- New-build, refurbishment and fit-out schemes
- Design and build and traditionally procured contracts
- Senior Quantity Surveyor with main-contractor experience
- Strong procurement, CVR, valuation, change-control and final-account capability
- Comfortable taking commercial ownership of projects
- Experience across commercial, education, retail, residential or refurbishment projects
- House building backgrounds will also be considered
- A capable Quantity Surveyor ready to progress into a Senior QS position may also suit
- Strong communication and subcontractor-management skills
- Established main contractor operating across London and the South East
- Approximately £30m turnover, with plans to grow the business
- Existing commercial team comprising four surveyors
- Broad project portfolio across multiple sectors
- Over 40 years in business, delivering both design-and-build and traditionally procured projects
- Office based in Old Woking
- One day working from home
