We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist independent school in Surrey for a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teacher
. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and thrives in a nurturing, child‑centred environment.
Our client is a small specialist provision supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and additional needs such as autism and ADHD. The school offers a therapeutic and trauma‑informed approach
, with small class sizes and a strong emphasis on building relationships, confidence and engagement in learning.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
- Support pupils working at a range of academic levels, often below age‑related expectations
- Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Develop strong, positive relationships that support emotional regulation and learning
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral staff
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning and wellbeing needs
- Holds, or is working towards,
QTS/QTLS (essential) - Has experience in primary teaching (SEND or SEMH experience desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrates strong behaviour management through a relational and restorative approach
- Is patient, resilient and adaptable
- Is committed to inclusive, trauma‑informed practice
