Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £107.40 – £115 per day

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Woking. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with children who have special educational needs (SEN) while pursuing your career aspirations in speech and language therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to children with SEN, particularly those with speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Assist in implementing speech and language therapy programs under the supervision of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT).
  • Support classroom teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Help students develop their communication skills through focused interventions and activities.
  • Track progress and provide feedback to the teaching team and therapists to ensure continued support for the students.
  • Foster a caring and encouraging environment for students, building trust and confidence.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • A keen interest in pursuing a career as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Previous experience working with children, especially those with SEN, is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage with children in a positive and supportive way.
  • Team player with the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each child.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally in the field of SEN and speech and language therapy.
Desirable
  • A relevant qualification in education, child development, or a related field (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • An understanding of SEN and speech and language development is a plus.
