SEN Learning Support Assistant
Guildford, Surrey
Specialist SEN School
Full-time (term time only), Monday to Friday 8:30am - 16:00pm
£93 - £110 PAYE per day; weekly payment
Reed Education is proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Outstanding' specialist SEN school in Guildford, offering a rewarding full-time opportunity for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. This is an excellent role for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs.
The school supports pupils aged 3-19 with a broad spectrum of needs, including Autism (ASC), complex learning difficulties, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Many pupils are non-verbal, and some require mobility support or use wheelchairs.
This is far more than a traditional school environment - it is a setting where education, care, and therapy come together to provide a truly holistic experience. The school benefits from exceptional facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, enabling pupils to access specialist support that enhances both their learning and development.
What is it like to work in an SEN school?
Working as a Learning Support Assistant in a specialist SEN setting is incredibly fulfilling. It goes beyond academic support - it's about creating meaningful relationships, building trust, and helping young people overcome daily challenges.
You will play a vital role in ensuring every pupil feels safe, supported, and valued. No two days are the same. One day you may be supporting a session in the hydrotherapy pool, the next assisting with feeding and personal care, or working alongside therapists to develop communication skills.
This role requires patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for making a difference in children's lives.
