Remedy Tutors are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic GCSE German Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a Year 10 student in Woking.
The student is keen to study German as part of their MFL GCSE, and we are looking for a tutor who can provide engaging, personalised tuition and support them to make strong academic progress.
The student has significant visual impairment
, so the successful tutor will need to be confident adapting teaching materials and resources to ensure lessons are fully accessible.
A 1:1 key adult will be present during sessions and can support with preparing accessible materials prior to lessons. The student will also have access to a laptop with specialist equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and structured GCSE German tuition on a 1:1 basis.
- Plan lessons around the student's individual learning needs and GCSE requirements.
- Adapt teaching resources to ensure all content is accessible.
- Provide visual information, demonstrations and board work through appropriate accessible alternatives, including tactile, Braille or audio formats where required.
- Work collaboratively with the student's key adult to prepare and adapt resources.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
- Build a positive, supportive relationship with the student and encourage confidence in German.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of the GCSE German curriculum
. - Experience teaching German at GCSE level.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
, ideally including students with visual impairments. - A relevant teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE or equivalent
. - The ability to adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A patient, encouraging and flexible approach.
