Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong plant room knowledge looking for a role where you can take ownership of critical energy infrastructure?

Our client is a leading environmental and sustainability infrastructure business responsible for the operation and maintenance of complex energy centres and utility distribution networks. With a substantial asset portfolio and a strong pipeline of long‑term projects, they continue to invest heavily in both their infrastructure and engineering teams.
This role will see you carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical plant and energy generation equipment. You'll be responsible for fault finding, servicing, and optimising critical systems to maximise uptime and ensure the uninterrupted supply of energy to commercial and residential customers.
The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical maintenance background gained within a commercial, industrial, energy, or utilities environment. Experience working on pumps, motors, valves, CHP systems, generators, or district heating networks would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- PPM and reactive maintenance on CHP, generators, combustion engines
- Maintain district heating, chilled water and power networks
- Use PLC and SCADA to monitor plant and record activity
- Ensure full HSE compliance including Legionella standards
- Support upgrades, replacements and network extensions
- 5+ years mechanical plant maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, valves and HVAC systems
- NVQ, City & Guilds or mechanical apprenticeship qualified
- Full UK driving licence required
- On‑call rota participation (1 in 5/6) essential
- IOSH or Legionella awareness desirable
