Location: Woking
Contract: Inside IR35 | 12 month contract
Rate: Dependent on experience
Role SummaryAs a Manufacturing Engineer NPI, you will support the introduction of new vehicle models from concept and prototype stages through to full production. Working closely with engineering, operations, design, and wider cross‑functional teams, you will help ensure new model introductions are delivered on time and in line with quality, output, safety, and performance targets.
Responsibilities- Develop vehicle assembly concepts for new model introductions.
- Support the transition from virtual manufacturing to physical validation and delivery.
- Create process sequencing, manufacturing documentation and traceability methods.
- Ensure processes align with current production standards and future manufacturing strategy.
- Develop and support PFMEA activity for new model programmes.
- Drive best practice to improve right‑first‑time delivery.
- Own, maintain and report hours‑per‑car data.
- Provide accurate manufacturing engineering data to support efficiency and output targets.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks with engineering and operations teams.
- Conduct line balancing, time and motion studies across the plant.
- Support facility layout, utilisation and material flow planning.
- Ensure new models align with facility plans and manufacturing vision.
- Support concept reviews, design reviews, engineering release and DFMEA activity.
- Deliver Manufacturing Engineering support across projects from concept to production
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
- Manufacturing Engineering experience within automotive, vehicle manufacturing or a similar engineering environment.
- Understanding of complex vehicle systems and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of trim and final assembly processes.
- Experience with end‑of‑line vehicle processing or finishing would be advantageous.
- Experience specifying or procuring assembly equipment would be beneficial.
- Ability to resolve product‑related issues while supporting quality targets.
