About the Company Our client is a well-established engineering services contractor delivering mechanical and electrical building services works across multiple sectors, with in-house capability covering design, installation and long-term maintenance support. They have a strong pipeline and are strengthening their design leadership to maintain quality and consistency as workload grows. What Youll Be Doing Leading M&E design delivery across multiple projects, from concept through to detailed design Managing design programmes, deliverables, and technical queries to keep projects moving Coordinating internal and external design teams, including consultants and supply chain designers Driving buildability, compliance, and risk management throughout the design process Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, drawings and equipment selections Chairing design workshops and meetings, ensuring actions are closed and decisions recorded Managing design change control and ensuring technical decisions align with commercial and delivery requirements Working closely with BIM / CAD resource to ensure coordination and clash resolution Supporting pre-construction activities, including tender design input and scope clarity Providing construction support, responding to RFIs, and ensuring designs are delivered through to commissioning and handover Skills & Experience Required Proven experience in M&E design management or senior building services design (contractor or consultancy background) Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems and coordination Confidence managing design programmes, stakeholders, and competing priorities Good knowledge of UK regulations and common industry standards Experience working within BIM-coordinated environments (Revit experience beneficial) Strong communication skills with a practical, solutions-led approach Organised and detail-focused, with a tidy approach to documentation and reporting Degree/HND/HNC in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience) Benefits Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 depending on experience Company benefits package Senior role with influence across design standards and project outcomes Stable pipeline and long-term opportunity within an established contractor
