Responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Responding to reactive mechanical faults and breakdowns
  • Fault finding, diagnosis and first-line repairs
  • Inspection and maintenance of mechanical plant and associated equipment
  • Monitoring plant performance and identifying potential defects
  • Completing maintenance records and associated documentation
  • Supporting contractors and specialist engineers where required
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with site health and safety procedures
  • Supporting the wider engineering team to maintain a safe and reliable site
Military Backgrounds

We would particularly like to hear from candidates with mechanical engineering or maintenance experience gained within:

  • REME
  • Royal Engineers
  • Royal Navy / Royal Marines
  • Royal Air Force
  • Other Armed Forces engineering and technical trades

Relevant experience could include:

  • Mechanical plant and equipment maintenance
  • Pumps, motors, valves and associated systems
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Planned and preventative maintenance
  • Breakdown response and fault diagnosis
  • Engineering inspections
  • Working under permit or safe systems of work
  • Technical documentation and maintenance records

Your experience does not need to have been gained within a commercial building or facilities environment.

What We're Looking For

You should have:

  • A recognised mechanical engineering qualification or relevant military engineering training
  • Strong practical mechanical maintenance experience
  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving capability
  • A strong understanding of engineering safety
  • The ability to work effectively as part of an on-site engineering team
