This role provides full commercial finance ownership and business partnering for McLaren Special Operations (MSO) and Motorsport, two of the most strategically important and commercially dynamic areas of the business. The role holder will drive financial performance, challenge assumptions, and help stakeholders maximise profitability and cashflow across bespoke production, customer programmes, and motor sport operations.

You will act as a trusted advisor to functional leads, ensuring accurate reporting, financial discipline, and insight-led decision‑making.

What You’ll Do1. Business Partnering & Strategic Support
  • Serve as the primary finance partner for MSO and Motorsport leadership teams.
  • Provide insight, challenge, and financial guidance covering programme performance, commercial initiatives, customer activities, and cost management.
  • Support pricing decisions, investment cases, and commercial proposals.
  • Manage relationships across Product, Commercial, MSO leadership, Motorsport programme leads, and Operations.
  • Lead monthly management accounts for MSO and Motorsport, ensuring accurate P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
  • Prepare variance analysis and commentary for Executive and Commercial leadership.
  • Respond to audit and internal control queries promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure strong governance around revenue recognition, bespoke project costing, and motor sport event/series accounting.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Own annual budget and periodic forecast cycles for MSO and Motorsport.
  • Partner with stakeholders to build bottom‑up forecasts with rigorous cost and margin assumptions.
  • Present risks, opportunities, and scenario analyses to senior leadership.
4. Process Improvement & Financial Governance
  • Drive continuous improvement in costing, job profitability tracking, and financial controls.
  • Strengthen forecasting methodologies across bespoke build programmes and motor sport initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to group finance policies and best practice standards.
  • Manage and mentor a Senior Finance Analyst, ensuring they develop strong technical and commercial capability.
  • Foster high standards of delivery, accuracy, and ownership within the team.
What You’ll Bring
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Strong business partnering experience in a fast‑paced commercial environment.
  • Experience with in automotive, engineered products, motor sport, or complex programme accounting beneficial.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and present financial insight clearly.
