Assistant Systems Accountant

• Support, maintain and improve Microsoft D365 and related systems.
• Act as a key link between Finance, the D365 Tech team and wider business users.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes through automation, system enhancements and better use of existing tools.
• Document system processes, controls and procedures.
• Work with the D365 technical team to ensure the core finance system operates according to business requirements.
• Support system upgrades, patches, testing and implementation of new functionality.
• Ensure financial systems comply with internal controls, audit requirements and data governance standards.
• Provide support and guidance to finance system users.
• Deliver training to new and existing users on finance systems and processes.
• Translate business requirements into system solutions in collaboration with Finance and the D365 technical team.
• Support finance transformation projects, system implementations and integration work.
• Participate in user acceptance testing, regression testing and issue tracking.
• Liaise with software providers, consultants and D365 technical teams where required.

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant, e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with finance systems in a medium or large organisation.
• Strong understanding of core finance processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Experience supporting system changes, testing or process improvements.

Demonstrates expertise in supporting and enhancing Microsoft D365 finance systems, ensuring compliance with internal controls and data governance standards. Proficient in translating business requirements into effective system solutions while providing training and support to users.
