Are you a detail-focused finance professional with strong bank reconciliation experience and a passion for getting things right first time? We are working with a successful and fast-growing national organisation seeking a Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded business where you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of cash and banking transactions across multiple accounts.

The Role

You will take ownership of daily banking activities, reconciliations and cash postings, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and deadlines are consistently met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations and resolving outstanding items
  • Posting and reconciling daily cash transactions
  • Preparing and processing weekly payment reports
  • Posting journals and manual payments to the ledger
  • Managing suspense accounts and investigating discrepancies
  • Analysing cash variances and working with internal stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Processing customer refunds through various payment platforms
  • Supporting wider finance team activities and ad hoc projects

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a reconciliations-focused finance role
  • Strong bank reconciliation and problem-solving skills
  • A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core finance principles
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with strong communication skills
