Inside IR35 An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Health Officer (Residential) to join a busy Local Authority team in Maidenhead on a temporary basis. This is a hybrid role, with officers expected to be present within the borough 3 days per week , undertaking inspections, investigations and enforcement activity across the residential housing sector.

Key Responsibilities Undertake HHSRS inspections and assessments. Investigate housing complaints and hazards within the private rented sector. Carry out HMO inspections and licensing functions. Enforce housing standards under the Housing Act 2004. Investigate offences relating to residential accommodation. Undertake enforcement action, including the preparation and service of statutory notices. Support the implementation and enforcement of the Renters Rights Act 2025. Liaise with landlords, tenants, agents and partner organisations.

Maintain accurate records and prepare reports, witness statements and legal documentation where required. Requirements Qualified Environmental Health Officer or equivalent housing enforcement professional. Significant experience within Private Sector Housing. Competent in undertaking HHSRS assessments. Experience managing HMO licensing and compliance cases. Strong working knowledge of Housing Act 2004 legislation. Experience undertaking housing enforcement investigations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
