We are excited to share a secondment opportunity running until 31/03/2027 for a Senior Business Team Leader to join our North West Social Care team based in Woking. The salary for this position is £41,585 per annum.

This role is open to hybrid working with an expectation to be in the office for 2-3 days per week.

About

The Role

Children, Families and Lifelong Learning provide a range of highly specialist services to vulnerable children and young people. Services are delivered directly to children and their families within extensive statutory frameworks and staff working in these areas need specialist knowledge in order to deliver effective services to these high risk and high need groups.

As the Senior Business Team Leader, you will manage and develop a large team of administrators to deliver a high quality and efficient administration service to assist in delivering the overall aim of improving outcomes for children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading, motivating and developing a large team of Business Support Staff to deliver a high-quality, responsive and consistent administrative service
  • Overseeing workloads, priorities and performance to ensure deadlines, service standards and statutory requirements are met
  • Acting as the main point of escalation for complex or high-risk administrative issues
  • Ensuring that administrative processes are efficient, compliant and customer-focused
  • Working closely with operational managers to ensure business support is aligned with frontline needs
  • Leading or contributing to service improvement projects, audits and inspections

Over the next 12-18 months the postholder will play a lead role in:

  • Management of our online travel system to improve compliance and value for money.
  • Working with newly centralised business support teams and services to map, review and streamline key processes

By improving systems, supporting frontline workers and developing staff, the SBTL will:

  • Enable practitioners to spend more time with children, families and vulnerable adults
  • Improve compliance, governance and financial control
  • Increase staff morale, retention and professional development
  • Deliver tangible efficiencies and better value for public money
Shortlisting Criteria

  • Confident use of digital systems and an understanding of how technology can improve service delivery
