Job Overview
Gi Group is supporting McLaren Automotive to recruit 15 Automotive assembly operatives for a high-profile role within the production area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers.
Pay Rates- £15.14 per hour up to 40 hours
- £22.72 per hour overtime rate after 40 hours and on Saturdays
- £30.29 per hour overtime rate on Sundays and bank holidays
Monday to Friday with possible overtime on weekends. Shift: 05:30 am – 14:15 pm.
ResponsibilitiesAs an assembly operative reporting to the Team Leader/Group Leader at McLaren Automotive, you will:
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to and that the build process (PES) is followed to deliver a supercar to the desired standard.
- Complete station operations on each vehicle within takt and to a high standard.
- Escalate any build issues or concerns that may affect quality, cost or productivity to your line manager within takt.
- Maintain 5S within your work area in line with McLaren expectations.
- Use the uniform and clothing provided and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Comply with all relevant regulations and safety standards, consistently adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
- Demonstrate flexibility by potentially moving to any area within the build process (Body assembly, General assembly, or End of line).
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Practical problem‑solving skills to support the team in reducing cost per car.
- Understanding of processes/work instructions to deliver a consistent process.
- Understanding of workplace safety risk assessments and their meaning.
- Ability to make sound and logical decisions.
- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Knowledge within the automotive sector is desirable.
- High attention to detail and quality standards.
- Confident and professional demeanor.
- Ability to act under pressure with calmness and clarity of thought.
- Flexible approach to the working day when circumstances dictate.
- Good communication skills.
- Punctuality.
