CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Engineer
Overview
This apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with our Training Provider SIGTA, combining hands-on experience in a modern machine shop with structured off-the-job training. You will develop skills in CNC machining, milling, turning, and precision engineering to become a fully competent machinist.

What You’ll Do- Operate CNC milling and turning machines under supervision
- Assist with setup, tooling, and material preparation
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Produce precision components to tight tolerances
- Use measuring equipment including micrometers and gauges
- Support inspection and quality control processes
- Learn CNC programming fundamentals (G-code)
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Complete apprenticeship coursework with SIGTA Apprenticeship Training (SIGTA): workplace learning combined with off-the-job training
- Day or block release at SIGTA training centre
Qualification:
Level 3 Engineering Technician/Machining Technician
Training includes machining, materials, CNC programming, drawings, quality and safety. Training Outcome:
To become a fully trained and qualified Machining Technician with Supercraft.

- Essential: GCSE English and Maths - 4/5 C or above

- Working Week: 18 years and over: 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am - 12.30pm Friday – 39 hours
- 16-17 years: 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.00am - 12.00pm Friday – 36 hours
