Apprentice Machining Technician

Overview

This apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with our Training Provider SIGTA, combining hands-on experience in a modern machine shop with structured off-the-job training. You will develop skills in CNC machining, milling, turning, and precision engineering to become a fully competent machinist.

Supercraft's head office and 48,000 sq ft engineering facility reside in Byfleet, Surrey.

• Operate CNC milling and turning machines under supervision
• Assist with setup, tooling, and material preparation
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Produce precision components to tight tolerances
• Use measuring equipment including micrometers and gauges
• Support inspection and quality control processes
• Learn CNC programming fundamentals (G-code)
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Complete apprenticeship coursework with SIGTA Apprenticeship Training (SIGTA): workplace learning combined with off-the-job training
• Day or block release at SIGTA training centre

Qualification:

Level 3 Engineering Technician/Machining Technician

Training includes machining, materials, CNC programming, drawings, quality and safety. Training Outcome:
To become a fully trained and qualified Machining Technician with Supercraft.

• Essential: GCSE English and Maths - 4/5 C or above
