Car Part Prepper

Job Overview

Gi Group is supporting McLaren Automotive to recruit a Car Part Prepper. This role is within the paint shop team and reports to the Team Leader/Group Leader. The position involves locating and collecting car parts from the warehouse area, moving them to the paint shop, and prepping the parts with masking tape for painting.

• £15.14 per hour up to 40 hours
• £22.72 per hour overtime rate after 40 hours and on Saturdays
• £30.29 per hour overtime rate on Sundays and Bank holidays

Monday to Friday with possible overtime available king hours: 05:30am to 14:15pm.

• Locate and collect car parts from the warehouse area and move them to the paint shop for prep.
• Use masking tape and other prep tools to prepare parts for painting.
• Ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to and the build process (PES) is followed to meet the desired standard.
• Escalate any build issues to the leader within takt.
• Maintain 5S and McLaren expectations within your work area.
• Use the provided uniform/clothing and maintain high quality standards.
• Create and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
• Adhere to all relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
• Be flexible to move to any area within the build process, including body assembly, general assembly, sub‑assembly stations, or end of line.
