Trustee legal - Volunteer

As a small and local charity to Surrey, we seek a new trustee to join our enthusiastic and friendly team of 8 trustees. We seek a trustee who has a legal background who can assist and advise our paid team and mediator volunteers with legal and regulatory issues.

As the governance trustee, our paid team, our trustees and volunteer mediators and coaches will look to you for your knowledge and expertise in statutory legislation. You will be trusted to promote and protect the charity's interests and support our mission to advance the benefits of mediation and coaching to resolve conflict in the interests of good citizenship and interpersonal relationships.

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good, independent judgement
• Commitment and understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship

Hybrid work arrangement.

Join our established board of 8 trustees and help the charity to provide an important public service to residents of Surrey. This is an important year of change for the charity as we expect to diversify our charitable offering so that we can continue to meet the needs of all Surrey residents. You will play a key role in reviewing our current policies and processes to ensure business readiness and compliance with the Charity Commission, and in ensuring the charity maintains a strong reputation of probity and operational efficiency.
