Director - Head of Major Infrastructure Projects

Location: Wimborne, Dorset or Woking, Surrey | Hybrid/remote considered

Salary: Around £100,000, depending on experience

Bonus: Generous performance-related bonus / commission

Wild Capital is expanding into a major new market opportunity and is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Director of Infrastructure Solutions to lead our presence in the nationally significant infrastructure sector. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands how major infrastructure projects are planned, financed, procured, and delivered, and who can translate Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) into compelling commercial solutions for clients.

You will be responsible for building relationships at senior level, securing new business, and negotiating complex BNG packages for major infrastructure clients across transport, energy, water, utilities, and related sectors. Working closely with our ecology, land, legal, and leadership teams, you will help shape offers that are commercially robust, deliverable, and aligned with client requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Identify, target, and win new business opportunities within the NSIP and major infrastructure market.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with infrastructure promoters, Tier 1 contractors, DCO applicants, and their advisers.
  • Act as Wild Capital’s primary contact for the infrastructure sector, representing the business at client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Winning frameworks and tenders for work relating to major infrastructure projects
  • Lead commercial negotiations on BNG packages, pricing strategies, deal structure, and contract terms.
  • Work with internal ecology, land, and legal specialists to develop strong, deliverable proposals.
  • Monitor the evolving NSIP, planning, and BNG landscape, feeding insight into business strategy.
About you

We are looking for someone with significant experience in or alongside major infrastructure projects and a strong track record in senior business development and relationship management. You will be confident dealing with board-level stakeholders, commercially astute, and comfortable building a new area of business with support from a high-performing team.

Essential experience
  • Familiarity with DCOs and the Planning Inspectorate process.
  • Familiarity with the planning system and development process
  • Strong experience across major infrastructure sectors such as roads, rail, energy, water, or utilities.
  • Proven success in senior-level B2B business development and client relationship management.
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and structuring deals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a growth environment.
What we offer
  • Salary around £100,000, subject to experience.
  • Generous performance bonus / commission linked to business development targets.
  • 5% employer pension contribution.
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
  • Flexible working from Wimborne (Dorset) or Woking (Surrey), with hybrid and remote options available.
  • The opportunity to lead a strategically important new area of business in a growing company at the forefront of the UK biodiversity market.

Wild Capital is a highly regarded national mitigation provider focused on BNG units, Nutrient Neutrality credits, and environmental offsets. We are ambitious, collaborative, and committed to delivering positive environmental and commercial outcomes at scale.
