This is a joint venture between Citizens Advice Woking (CAW) and i-access, the drug and alcohol community service which offers specialist assessment, support, and treatment to people in Surrey who want help with their drug and/or alcohol use. The role is fixed term to the end of March 2027, but it is hoped that it will continue, subject to funding.
We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our specialist team. It is essential that the applicant has recent experience of advising clients, at Citizens Advice or another comparable organisation.
Responsibilities and DutiesYou will need to demonstrate that you can cope with a demanding caseload and that you are able to monitor and manage your own caseload to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to work with i-access service users, either remotely or in person, and provide information, advice, and casework in all areas of generalist advice, particularly welfare benefits, debt, and housing.
Patience and empathy are essential.
- Travel to the three i-access locations in Guildford, Redhill, and Chertsey, and to CAW’s office in Woking
- Work remotely from home, requiring a confidential workspace and reliable Wi‑Fi
The successful candidate will be screened by the DBS. However, a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to taking up the job. The Citizens Advice service values diversity, promotes equality, and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic applicants who are currently underrepresented in our workforce.
