As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products that are used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provide a wide range of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia and closed medication management.
AboutThe Role
As the Commercial Manager, you will be the driving force behind commercial strategy execution across the MDS UKI Business Unit. You will lead national pricing strategy, strengthen our market presence, and maximise commercial value across all routes to market. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, B2B, and Distribution teams, you will act as the key commercial voice of BD MDS UK for National Procurement Bodies, the Private Health Sector, and strategic 3PL partners.
This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility role ideal for an ambitious commercial leader who thrives in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Lead the development and implementation of the MDS UK National Pricing Strategy. Ensure pricing structures support profitable market share growth through optimal price, volume, and product mix. Create frameworks for product and account margin optimisation, delivering these across the sales organisation to drive commercial excellence. Collaborate with the BDX Pricing Group to contribute to cross‑business‑unit pricing initiatives.
- Own the commercial relationship with National Procurement Bodies, including NHSSC Category Towers. Align customer needs with relevant commercial offerings, framework contracts, and negotiation strategies. Influence the future procurement landscape to support BD’s commercial vision and create value‑driven partnerships. Oversee and ensure consistency in pricing methodologies across distributors and wholesalers. Lead quarterly pricing reviews and contract management processes to support growth and minimise administrative delays.
- Partner with Commercial, Distribution, and Marketing teams to ensure effective supply and demand management. Provide clear internal forecasting and external customer updates to minimise patient impact. Manage product back‑order allocation based on National Strategy priorities. Coordinate communication for Field Safety Notices with core customer groups.
