Job Description The UKI Tender & Bid team owns and manages the entire tender & bid process across all BD business units (BDX) in the UK & Ireland. The interactions the team has with both internal and external stakeholders focus on all aspects of the tender & bid process and are designed to ensure the successful submission of tenders and bids across BDX, thus enabling BD UKI to deliver profitable sales and embed outcomes-based solutions for customers and patients alike.

The purpose of the ‘Tender & Bid Specialist UKI’ role is to apply and use well-developed knowledge of tender and bid management and to gather commercial, financial and technical information needed in the preparation of tenders and bids. Consequently, the Tender & Bid Specialist UKI actively manages the entire tender & bid process for tenders and bids across BDX. The Tender & Bid Specialist UKI takes the lead in coordinating all activities within the tender & bid submission process and managing all stakeholders to ensure the successful submission of tenders and bids (including renewals).

The Tender & Bid Specialist is responsible for complying with the tender & bid process across BDX and the applicable law, assisting with developing and maintaining ‘model answers’ in the BD Tender & Bid Database and analysing performance in past tenders and bids. Responsibilities:
Manage the entire tender & bid process (end-to-end) for tenders and bids across BDX Take the lead in coordinating all activities from opportunity identification and pre-tender stage through tender preparation and submission to post-award performance analysis Align and manage all stakeholders (internal and external) and consolidate information and documentation to ensure the successful submission of tenders and bids Engage with and drive the topics of ESG, Sustainability and Social Value Assist with developing and maintaining ‘model answers’ in the BD Tender & Bid Database Take ownership of management reporting around the entire tender and bid pipeline Comply with the tender & bid process across BDX Comply with the applicable law Preferred Requirements: 2+ years of experience in a tender and bid role, ideally gained in a healthcare setting (an understanding of the NHS procurement processes a plus) Experience in RFP/tender/bid writing Experience in successfully managing large groups of diverse internal and external stakeholders Strong interpersonal skills – with the ability to engage with and manage a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels Influencing without authority Action oriented – with a drive for results and a desire to learn and grow Strong time management, prioritization, organisation and planning skills Dealing with ambiguity and problem-solving skills Project management skills Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions of contract Knowledge of public procurement law Experience in engaging with and driving the topics of ESG, Sustainability and Social Value Proficiency in all key MS Office applications, experience with Tender Eyes/SharePoint desirable Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a science based or economics/business studies related discipline Salary range for the role:£33.300 to £45.000 Click on apply if this sounds like you!
