This is an exciting time to join us as we extend our shared service partnership with West Berkshire Council due to ongoing success and continued market growth. As part of our investment in service delivery and our commitment to maintaining and improving the build environment in our community, we are looking to expand our team of building control surveyors across various levels.
** Golden Hello Payment
** As a commitment to the development of our team, new employees will be entitled to a Golden Hello payment of up to £6,000 (subject to successful completion of their probation period and length of service commitment).
** Building Control Surveyor – General Level 5-6 - £59,914 - £65,370 per annum (Depending on experience, includes £7500 Market Supplement) + Benefits
** As a General Level Building Control Surveyor, you will undertake technical assessments and activities on band A and B building types, managing a portfolio of development sites from domestic and dwelling houses and non-domestic projects. You will examine plans, carry out site inspections, and initiate enforcement action where appropriate, ensuring buildings comply with relevant regulatory standards.

Under supervision, you will also manage a caseload of band C technical projects including, participating in the out of hours rota while maintaining your Registered Building Inspector status with the Building Safety Regulator. Contributing to the team's quality management system and mentoring trainees when assigned, you will liaise with a variety of stakeholders to deliver customer-focused service within a self-financing Building Control operation.
** Candidate Requirements
*** RICS or CIOB accredited degree, ONC/HNC or equivalent experience in surveying or building related discipline.
* MRICS/MCABE/MCIOB or equivalent chartered status with relevant Building Control bias and evidence of achieving CPD requirement.
* Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2D with the Building Safety Regulator
* Working towards and achieve registration with the Building Safety Regulator for Class 2F and Class 3 within a 2-year period and continue this form of validation and registration throughout your employment at WBC.
** Principal Building Control Surveyor - £66,509-£72,173 per annum** **(Depending on experience, includes £7500 Market Supplement) + Benefits
