One-to-One Maths Tutors Required (Alternative Provision - Wokingham Area)
We are seeking dedicated one-to-one Maths tutors
, ideally qualified teachers
, to provide off-site educational support to students in and around Wokingham who are currently out of mainstream education
.
While the primary focus is on KS3 and KS4 Maths
, tutors should be willing to work with primary-aged pupils where required
, depending on placement needs.
This role is particularly well suited to teachers looking to step away from the pressures of mainstream classrooms and move into part-time, flexible work
, while continuing to make a meaningful impact through focused, individual support.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.
About the Role- Part-time, flexible 1-to-1 Maths tuition
- Primarily KS3 and KS4, with occasional primary placements
- Students are typically accessing alternative provision
- Off-site education delivered locally within the Wokingham area
- Work available until at least September and likely beyond
Students may present with SEMH needs, anxiety, school refusal, or previous exclusion
, and require a calm, consistent, relationship-led approach.
Tuition may include:
- KS3 and KS4 Maths support
- Functional numeracy and confidence-building
- GCSE preparation where appropriate
- Targeted intervention to close learning gaps
- Qualified Teacher Status preferred (Maths specialism desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
- Willingness to support primary-aged pupils where required
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
- Ability to travel locally
- Experience with SEMH or alternative provision highly desirable
- Rate dependent on experience and qualifications
