Role SummaryQuantum Scholars are looking for a caring, patient and experienced qualified EYFS or KS1 Teacher to provide 1:1 support for a non‑verbal child with very complex needs. The role is based in Berkshire and involves working with the child in their home for 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The successful teacher will provide a calm, nurturing and highly personalised approach, supporting the child's engagement, communication, confidence and early learning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 support for a non‑verbal child in a home setting
- Plan and deliver highly personalised EYFS or KS1 learning activities
- Use a gentle, flexible and child‑centred approach
- Support communication, engagement and emotional regulation
- Adapt sessions to suit the child's needs, responses and readiness to learn
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child
- Work professionally with parents/carers and relevant professionals
- Keep brief records of session content, engagement and progress
- Qualified Teacher Status, with EYFS and/or KS1 teaching experience
- Experience supporting children with SEND, complex needs or communication difficulties
- Calm, patient, nurturing and flexible approach
- Ability to adapt learning to meet the needs of a non‑verbal child
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Clear commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for children
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Possession of (or willingness to obtain) an enhanced DBS certificate and suitable references
Applicants must be qualified teachers and have the legal right to work in the UK. Applicants who do not meet these requirements will not be considered. Additionally, applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate and be able to provide suitable references.
