A fantastic and inclusive school in Wokingham is seeking a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is the perfect opportunity for a Psychology graduate who is considering a future career in educational or clinical psychology, SEN teaching, or therapeutic work with children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for children with a range of special educational needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH).
- Assist the class teacher and SENCO in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
- Help create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that encourages emotional and academic growth.
- Monitor and track student progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to support holistic development.
- A degree in Psychology (or related field).
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning.
- Previous experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is desirable but not essential.
- A supportive, collaborative working environment.
